Two stars done -- just to see what they look like. I'll be making 40 of the 9" stars. Some will be made with only 2 or 3 fabrics, and many will be parts and pieces. I tried both versions in these first two stars.
The upper left and upper right corners of the photo aren't quilt pieces. The design of my thin, flannel-backed tablecloth is showing through.
I see one "woodpile" block on the right side is turned the wrong way.
Thank you, little design wall, for showing me the error of my ways.

Lovely!
I love it and didn't notice the gray logs until you pointed them out.
Very nice...loving it so far :)
I find these colors to be so soothing. I did notice the grays, but they were all right with me. They said rustic to me. This is going to be a really beautiful quilt. How big is it going to be?
I have tried doing an all neutrals quilt a couple times and wasn't successful. Yours is very nice. The gray doesn't bother me in the long strips but the photo may have softened it's look.
Beautiful! Isn't it funny how a phot will show the errors? You are definitely inspiring me to try a neutral.
A real beauty and I do agree with your using the gray in only small little smidges. Most anxious to see a finished product.
Enjoy the process!
I like the sparkle the soft gray adds!
Elegant pallet.
Just beautiful, Vivian. I love the soft, vintage feel of it all!
Very nice...I kind of like the grey but like someone else said, maybe the photo toned them down some. Anyway, I do like the soft look these neutrals.
Love it...so soft and elegant.
Love the grey in it too..adds an extra charm to it..

Looks great! I agree I would replace the 2 long grey strips. I would keep adding the gray in though in very small pieces....just me and mho!

Wow! This is going to be a beauty of a quilt! I love the little gray pieces in it! And maybe it is best to alter the longer gray strips, I agree.
But this is truly an eyecatcher!!
Enjoy it!
I love watching this quilt top come together. When I made one with similar colors (no gray, though), the teacher in the class asked me if I knew that these quilts are called "Champagne Quilts." I didn't, though it was appropriate since the friend I made it for taught me how to drink champagne. It's a fitting gift for your friend's retirement!
Fabulous! Love this!
Wow, this is lovely. I'm sure it's much harder than it looks to get it just right. I love the term "woodpile." ;) I agree, the gray looks better in shorter pieces.
Love the subtle tonings of this quilt already!!!! Beautiful!!!
It's going to be gorgeous!!!
I so love your neutral quilt. It is going to be such a beautiful quilt. Hugs
