A little quilt finish

finishes at 18-1/2" x 22-1/2"
I caved in to the temptation of the little "Twelve Days of Christmas" quilt from the Temecula Quilt Company.  It's done and ready for quilting.
A couple changes from the original plan.
--I added sashing on the outside of the blocks.  (Original has only interior sashing)
--scrambled the blocks in a different layout.  Next Christmas our grandkids can find the block with 1 piece, the block with 2 pieces, the block with 3 pieces, etc.

As it has a Christmas theme, I used Civil War era red and green repro fabrics.  I chose the two border fabrics first and went from there, using scraps for most of the 3" blocks.

NOTE:  The bottom border looks uneven in the photo.  It's actually nice and straight.

I'm working on part 2 of my Pink Lemonade blocks.   Lori is taking it nice and slow so we can keep up.

I like how you mixed up the blocks and the kids can search for the blocks. I love it.

We did the same things to our 12 Days quilts--mixing blocks and border all around. I also added a second inner border. Will probably post about it tomorrow.
I love your Christmas colors in repro fabrics. Very nice result!
Now I need to go sew up parts 1 & 2 of pink lemonade. Just finished cutting it all. Glad Lori is taking it slowly for my sake! : )

I like the sashing all around the blocks very much, Vivian! How fun to make this mini a "teaching" quilt :) My whole blocks are done and I hope to get my half blocks at least cut tomorrow night. Work work work is taking all my time!

I loved that pattern and downloaded it but wasn't sure if I wanted it in Xmas colors or not.
I love your version and thank you for giving me something to compare to the original!
