Thimble finish

My little thimble quilt is hand quilted and bound and ready to put up or put away.  Finished size is 20-1/2 x 23" and I first wrote about it here.  After asking if I was making a thimble or a tumbler quilt, it's clear this is a thimble quilt.  The blocks are small, 2" high and 2" wide at the base.

I finished quilting the Be Attitudes quilt in time for it to be pulled out from under the Christmas tree by DD #1.  I sent her home with her quilt, plus a label and the buttons that still need to be added.  I'm leaving the wording of the label up to her, as she and her sister both worked on the top and I quilted it.  I'm sure she'll have it totally done before the end of the calendar year.

I've written before about a BOM that I'm working on with a local group of ladies.  It's Rocky Mountain Sampler, and I'm finished with 9 of the 12 blocks. We're getting instructions for two blocks per month, but I figured out how to make block #9 from a picture, so I worked ahead.

Each block has a 6" center, and then HST and flying geese made from a random mixture of our selected fabrics are added = 12" block.  These are just stuck on my design wall, but you can see how the block corners will make a bold secondary design.

I'd like to finish one or 2 UFOs before the end of the year, but I'm nearly out of time.   I have some WIPs I'd enjoy going back to.  Or maybe I'll start something new.  Oh, the choices!!   Wonderful quilty choices!!

I like how your thimbles are separated by the dark fabric. A different look.

Okay, you made me want to go and finish mine. I have one that needs borders and one that needs the stitching.

The thimble quilt is adorable. I have a couple of minis in waiting that should probably be hand quilted too--it would be good practice for me. I love that your daughters worked on the quilt together and you quilted it, how lovely. The BOM looks great. Hope your DH is feeling much better now and that's giving you more stitching time.

Vivian, Your be attitudes quilt is beautiful. I am still quilting mine. I wish I would have chosen a simple quilt design. It is taking me too long to quilt it.
